Fifteen climate activists from Climate Justice Action are currently holding a sit in of protestation at the offices of the IETA (International Emissions Trading Association) in Brussels. They entered the carbon lobby group’s offices peacefully around 2 pm local time while others stayed outside to protest  in front of the building.

While COP16 is starting in Cancun (Mexico) today, the climate activists from Climate Justice Action are gearing up to raise awareness about climate change. As many others, the members of the group fear that no binding agreement will come out of this new round of United Nations Climate talks. Carbon trading, one of the agenda points of COP16, is no solution to the problem either and that’s why they are sitting in at the IETA offices.
