Zombies could easily become the next mascot for a green lifestyle. Not only do they travel by foot, rather than using energy consuming, pollution creating vehicles; they also are prime examples of living a reuse-driven lifestyle. People are starting to see the good potential in zombies (much like the end of “Shaun of the Dead”), and are lining up across the world to join the ranks of these lumbering undead.

Zombie Walks are becoming the latest concept for fighting against climate change. Basically, it is an organized gathering of people dressed up as zombies, walking in typical zombie-mob fashion to a pre-determined destination. While staggering along said route, these volunteer zombies have been doing things like cleaning up trash and recycled goods, collecting food and money for charities, and promoting blood drives. The last, I am sure, is not that surprising; but at least people don’t have to worry about keeping their brains intact when dealing with these zombies.

So, if you want to help the environment, and have some fun doing so, go out and become a zombie! Otherwise, if science-fiction is anything accurate, we might all be headed in that direction soon anyway.
