It seems we’ve spent that last few decades building the concrete jungle and skyscrapers that blocked off the sky from our sight. But now we need a DYI book to go back to the natural building blocks to save our planet (better late then never.) Mud huts and thatched roofs aren’t the answer though. A new test project is going underway across Europe: The E-Move Charging Station. Imagine you are out one day, driving your electric vehicle, when you notice the battery is about to go dead. Those overnight charges at home just aren’t giving your transportation the juice it needs. This is where the charging stations come in. Up to eight electric vehicles—both 2 and 4 wheeled—are able to be charged at these stations. Reuters reports that Google is investing new mirror technology with a potential to reduce the cost of building solar thermal plants by no less than a quarter or more. According to the company’s green energy specialist Bill Weihl, Google is “looking at very unusual materials for the mirrors both for the reflective surface as well as the substrate that the mirror is mounted on”.
