Germany’s differing opinions on nuclear weapons
Nuclear power is a hot issue in Germany. Only last month German chancellor Angela Merkel decided to delay the nuclear phase out legislation passed by the preceding Social Democratic-Green coalition government, extending the deadline by another 10-15 years. Merkel cited the country’s energy needs while undergoing a transition to renewable power sources and reducing greenhouse gases. But what about nuclear weapons?
