We live in a vast world with many different creatures. It may come as a surprise to learn where some species call home—especially when those places tend to be pretty remote and dangerous. Unfortunately, some of those dangers can still come from humans. In the past 11 months, 28 Indian Rhinos were poached throughout Nepal’s Himalayan Mountains. An investigation is currently underway as conservation officials, police and army chiefs were ordered to come up with a strategy to put a stop to the killings, once and for all. Although the rhinos are already protected by the government and the forests…

It’s been only a week since federal inspectors started their investigation of Massey Energy operations and they’ve already found 60 serious safety violations. If you haven’t been following the news much lately, an explosion at the Upper Big Branch coal mine of West Virginia killed 29 miners last week, making it the worst US coal mine disaster since 1970. The mine is owned by Massey Energy and it’s believed the cause of the blast had to do with methane and lack of proper ventilation systems in the mine. Massey Energy has a long history of violations and filing numerous appeals…

After a long week of worry, hope, fear, and stressful conditions, the search for the 4 missing miners finally came to an end. None of them survived. Governor Joe Manchin stated: “We did not receive the miracle that we prayed for.” … “The rescue workers told us they’re sure no one suffered.” … “So, this journey has ended and now the healing will start.” All 4 bodies were shattered by an explosion that happened in West Virginia’s Upper Big Branch mine earlier this week, raising the death toll to 29 and making it the worst US coal mine disaster since…

Some of you may remember a documentary released last summer called The Cove. It basically depicted the annual dolphin hunts that occur in one of Japan’s National Parks, through the eyes of an anti-dolphin hunting campaigner. The film went on to win an Academy Award this year for Best Documentary Film. However, the team behind this successful film had another agenda to complete while at Tinseltown. Last October, associate producer, Charles Hambleton, was told of a particular restaurant in California that was serving illegal whale meat. This particular restaurant would be none other than The Hump, which is extremely well-known…

Earlier this month, there was an incident involving the Ady Gil vessel (of the Sea Shepherd fleet) and the Shonan Maru No. 2 (which is with the Japanese whalers). To make a long explanation very short, the Shonan Maru No. 2 rammed the Ady Gil, causing irreparable damage to the vessel and now the Ady Gil is somewhere on the ocean floor. Both sides blame each other for the crash and some form of official intervention is needed. Now that we are more or less up to speed on things, here is where the update on matters begins. Recently, the…
