Sea Shepherd’s Flagship Vessel the Steve Irwin finally released!
Thanks to generous donations and support from all over the world, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society has been able to raise over $735,000 (about € 515.000) to save the flagship Steve Irwin—less than two weeks after the launch of their SOS! – Save Our Ship fundraising campaign! On July 15th, the Steve Irwin was detained in the Scottish Shetland Islands pending the Sea Shepherd’s ability to fund a bond estimated to be in the amount of $1,411,692.87 (about €990.000).
