Find Out How to Plan a Green Wedding!
Traditionally, you have to decide on a date, a location, food, flower arrangements, invitations, cake, decorations, gifts for your guests, where the reception will be located at, what you are going to wear, what band or DJ to book for the reception, and countless other major and minor details. With so much planning to do, it’s no wonder so many brides-to-be end up so stressed out! On top of all that, there is a push towards weddings that are more green or eco-friendly—and that can add even more stress to the situation.
You may begin to wonder: ‘Is the cake organic? Will the invitations be printed on recycled paper? Where does the material for my gown really come from?’ How can you be so sure everything is legit? Well, fortunately there are a number of online sources that can help you plan the eco-wedding of your dreams. Check out these links:
How to Go Green: Weddings – Discovery’s Planet Green offers great tips for holding a green wedding. They also provide you with a quiz to find out how green your wedding actually is.
EcoWedding – This site has practically everything you will need to know for having a green wedding.
Eco Chic Wedding – If you’re looking for some ideas for throwing a wedding that is both eco-friendly and trendy, check out this site.
Wedvert – This is another massively helpful eco wedding site, with information ranging from fashion to treats, and even a variety of wedding motif ideas!
Hopefully, those links will help get you started (or finish things up!). Oh, and there is one other site that may be of interest to those of you in Europe. This October, there will be an Eco Wedding Fair held in Geneva, Switzerland. You will be able to check out a variety of eco-friendly wedding exhibits, including flowers, honeymoon destinations, gifts, and a lot more!
