With COP15, the UN Climate Change Conference, only two days away, thousands came out on the streets yesterday to campaign for significant action on climate change. Organized by the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition, events and marches around the U.K. – collectively known as The Wave – brought demonstrators including environmental organizations, religious groups, trade unions and aid agencies together to voice their collective concern about climate change.
U.K. Climate Change Secretary Ed Milliband told the BBC: “We’re going to go all out, the whole of the British government, over the next two weeks to make sure we get the most ambitious agreement we can.”
According to a BBC News report, police put the number of demonstrators in London at 20,000 and 7,000 in Glasgow with another taking place in Belfast.
