Earth-inspired art has been with us for centuries, starting from cave drawings and progressing all the way to things like recycled art and the CO2 Cube. Another massive exhibit of this kind is to be on display at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, England, from December 3, 2009 to January 31, 2010.

However, this particular art exhibition comes with a message. GSK Contemporary’s Earth: Art of a Changing World will display art that shows the impacts or effects of Climate Change. More specifically, the purpose of the event is to “create an exhibition that is close to the edge, bravely metamorphosing ‘issue’ and ‘art’, whilst beautiful, powerful and thought-provoking”.

Over 30 artists will be participating in the event, including works from Spencer Finch, Yao Lu, Tracey Moffatt, and Emma Wieslander. Different themes throughout the exhibition will show the Earth as it was during explorer times, as it is now during these destructive times, and how it may possibly be in the future.
