Candy giant manufacturer MARS, parent company of M&M’S®, DOVE®, MILKY WAY®, SNICKERS®, 3 MUSKETEERS®, and TWIX® is committed to strengthen their stand on sustainability and being environment-friendly. They have recently partnered with PSEG Solar Source by equipping their New Jersey Headquarters with a solar garden.

The solar garden is one of the first large-scale solar projects in the state and contains over 28,000 solar panels, providing about 2 MW of power (about 20% of the headquarters’ electricity needs) spread over an area of 18 acres. The expected emissions reduction from the project is more than 1,000 metric tons or an equivalent of removing 190 cars from the road.

The system is owned by PSEG Solar Source and MARS has contracted to purchase all of its energy output. The solar garden serves as an example of how PSEG is working. Read the full article here
