When he first bought the 1972 MGB roadster back in 1984 in order to restore it, Dr. Roger Dougal probably never thought it would take more than 20 years before he actually started his project. The University of South Carolina Engineering Professor handed the car over to his students as a class project. They began rebuilding the classic car, but not just replacing the old engine, but giving it new life as an electric car. The students, some of who have done the work on a voluntary basis, devoted their time and about $10,000 of their own money to make the various changes, such as replacing the fuel combustion engine with an AC motor. The students continue to work on completing the project, hoping to compete upcoming Sports Car Club of America autocross races. Read the full article here

    As it’s very difficult to collect the old car parts of the perfect make and the models. I like the idea of to convert it in to the electric vehicle without changing it’s outside look. It gives the feel of classic old car with all new features. The effort is must be appreciated.
